Ferrières School — Hospitality Management & Culinary Arts Education

Founded in 2015 by Khalil Khater, Founder and President of Groupe Accelis, École Ferrières trains the future professionals of hospitality, food service, luxury and the culinary arts. Its setting is the Château de Ferrières, built for James de Rothschild and inaugurated in 1862, thirty minutes from Paris by RER (Bussy-Saint-Georges). The School belongs to GA Education, the higher education division of Groupe Accelis, alongside European Business School Paris and École 89.

Its programmes span the full course of study, from undergraduate to postgraduate level. The three-year Bachelor Hospitality Management prepares students for an RNCP Level 6 qualification and concludes with a specialisation in Hotel Operations, F&B Operations or Luxury Field Operations, taught in French or English, with the option of completing the third year on a work-study basis. The MSc. Leadership in Hospitality Management, a dual degree with European Business School, leads to a Level 7 qualification and offers three specialisations: Luxury Management, Sustainable Management and Event Management.

Les Ateliers Ferrières, located in Ferrières-en-Brie, is home to the Arts de la Cuisine and Arts de la Pâtisserie programmes. Designed for a swift entry into the profession, they take place in professional laboratories — kitchen, patisserie, bakery and a multi-purpose laboratory — complemented by a practical training room for restaurant service and a practical training room for housekeeping.

Teaching is built on Learning by Doing. Students move between academic instruction, practical scenarios and professional immersions, notably during the professional immersion week within the Accelis ecosystem, which brings together a four-star hotel in Marne-la-Vallée, a Cinq Mondes spa, the Le Chai and L'Origano restaurants, the Madeleine by Ferrières bakery and patisserie, Château La Dorgonne and Paxton Barcelona.

An international dimension shapes every programme: 45% international students, more than twenty nationalities, courses taught in English and a campus in Barcelona, in the Poblenou district, where a semester devoted to MICE and luxury tourism forms part of the curriculum. More than fifty placement destinations are available abroad. Careers support runs throughout the student journey, through the Career Summits, the network of partner houses in France and internationally, and ongoing alumni engagement.

École Ferrières is Qualiopi-certified. Admission is based on an application file and interview, from the baccalaureate or an equivalent qualification, and takes place throughout the year. Open Days, Immersion Days and private visits offer the opportunity to discover the campus, the programmes and the funding options before applying.

A hospitality and luxury management school at the Château de Ferrières

École Ferrières is a school of hospitality, food service, luxury and culinary arts management, founded in 2015 by Khalil Khater, Founder and President of Groupe Accelis. Its setting is the Château de Ferrières, built between 1855 and 1859 for James de Rothschild by the architect Joseph Paxton and inaugurated in 1862. The estate passed to the municipality in 2012; the educational project was entrusted to Khalil Khater in 2013 and the first students were welcomed in 2015. The campus lies thirty minutes from Paris, accessible by RER from Bussy-Saint-Georges station. The School belongs to GA Education, the higher education division of Groupe Accelis, which also brings together European Business School Paris and École 89.

Hospitality management programmes from undergraduate to postgraduate level

The Bachelor Hospitality Management runs over three years and prepares students for an RNCP Level 6 qualification. It can be followed in French or in English and concludes with a specialisation of the student's choosing: Hotel Operations, F&B Operations or Luxury Field Operations. The first two years combine teaching in management, hotel operations and service culture with placement periods in France and abroad. The third year may be completed on a work-study basis, with one week at the School for every three weeks in the workplace. A dual degree with European Business School is available to students wishing to strengthen their training in business development, and progression to a Master's cycle remains open on completion of the programme.

The MSc. Leadership in Hospitality Management prepares students for a Level 7 qualification as a dual degree with European Business School. The second year is structured around three specialisations: Luxury Management, Sustainable Management and Event Management. This cycle is intended for students aiming for leadership roles in international hospitality, luxury houses, events or consultancy.

Les Ateliers Ferrières: the Arts de la Cuisine and Arts de la Pâtisserie programmes

Les Ateliers Ferrières offers two vocational programmes, Arts de la Cuisine and Arts de la Pâtisserie, taught at 5 rue Charles Cordier in Ferrières-en-Brie. They are intended for career changers as well as for those wishing to learn a culinary trade within a condensed timeframe. Learning takes place in professional laboratories: a kitchen laboratory, a patisserie laboratory, a bakery laboratory and a multi-purpose laboratory, alongside a practical training room for restaurant service and a practical training room for housekeeping. The programme combines technical skills, product knowledge, hygiene and work organisation, and extends into a period of professional experience.

A teaching approach founded on Learning by Doing

All programmes are built on Learning by Doing: theoretical learning is put to the test in real conditions. Students work on concrete case studies, guest reception and service exercises, event projects and immersive examinations. The professional immersion week within the Accelis ecosystem completes this approach. The ecosystem brings together houses belonging to the Group: a four-star hotel in Marne-la-Vallée, a Cinq Mondes spa, the Le Chai and L'Origano restaurants, the Madeleine by Ferrières bakery and patisserie, the Biomonde store, Château La Dorgonne and Paxton Barcelona. There, students work alongside the houses' own teams, under the conditions and expectations of the sector.

An international school with a campus in Barcelona

The School welcomes 45% international students and more than twenty nationalities. Programmes are taught in French or in English depending on the cycle, and more than fifty placement destinations are available abroad. The Barcelona campus, 1,200 m² in the Poblenou district, hosts a semester integrated into the programme, devoted to MICE and luxury tourism. The entire year group travels there: masterclasses, field visits and a professional placement extend the Spanish experience. Three places of learning thus shape the student journey: the Château de Ferrières, Les Ateliers Ferrières and the Barcelona campus.

Employability and professional network

Employability is addressed from the first year onwards. The Career Summits bring recruiters from hotel houses, restaurants and luxury businesses, in France and internationally, onto the campus for recruitment meetings and interviews. One-to-one support covers career planning, applications and interview preparation. The Ferrières Alumni network carries this momentum beyond graduation. For the Bachelor, the graduate employment rate stands at 100% within six months of completing the programme.

Certification, quality and funding

École Ferrières is Qualiopi-certified. Its programmes are underpinned by qualifications registered with the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles, including record RNCP38260, "Responsable en hôtellerie et restauration internationales", at Level 6. Performance indicators are published and kept up to date. Two funding arrangements are available to families: an in-house financing body within the Group and a partner bank. Work-study allows tuition fees to be covered, and the Fonds de Dotation Ferrières supports students on the basis of set criteria.

Applying to École Ferrières

Admission is based on an application file and a motivation interview, throughout the year and subject to the availability of places. Open Days, immersion days and private visits at the château are an opportunity to meet the teaching teams and the students before deciding. The admissions team can be reached on +33 (0)1 72 35 05 00 and at admissions@ferrieres-paris.com, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, Rue du Château, 77164 Ferrières-en-Brie.

For applicants

To join the Bachelor in Hospitality Management, you must hold the French baccalauréat (general, technological or vocational) or an equivalent secondary school leaving qualification recognised in your home country. International applicants may be asked to provide a certificate of equivalence, translated by the official services of the relevant embassy. You must also be a national of a European Union country or hold a valid residence permit authorising you to study in France. These requirements confirm your administrative eligibility for admission.

Yes. The Ferrières MSc. is designed to prepare students for international careers. Taught entirely in English, it leads to a dual degree awarded with EBS, including the RNCP35177 Level 7 "Diplôme MSc." qualification (equivalent to five years of higher education). The programme develops leadership, multicultural management and employability through an international network of companies, experts and career opportunities.

Once your application has been reviewed, you will be invited to a motivation interview with the Ferrières admissions panel. This conversation allows us to assess your career plans, your motivation, your drive and your ability to adapt, as well as your analytical and summarising skills and your command of foreign languages. A decision is communicated within 15 days of the process being completed. Once a place is offered, you must confirm it within the time indicated. If no reply is received, your application is placed on the waiting list, subject to places being available.

Yes. You can join the Ferrières Bachelor Hospitality Management in the second or third year, subject to eligibility and to approval of your application. Direct entry recognises your previous academic experience and places you on a course suited to your level. Candidates are selected on the strength of their application, followed by a motivation interview. Entry into the third year is open in particular to students holding a two-year higher education qualification (120 ECTS) or an equivalent degree in hospitality, tourism or management.

For families & career changers

The total cost depends on the course chosen and on the student's status (full-time study or work-study). For the Bachelor, tuition fees are €13,500 per year. In the third year, the course may be taken on a work-study basis: tuition is then covered by the host company through its OPCO (skills funding body), under an apprenticeship contract. For the MSc, full-time tuition is €22,000. On the work-study track, fees are reduced to €11,000, as the company may cover all or part of the tuition through the available funding schemes. The Culinary Arts programmes (Cuisine and Pastry) are each offered at €11,500. Additional costs may apply depending on the course (equipment, professional uniform, application fees). Funding solutions are available to support students, whether in full-time study or retraining.

At Ferrières Paris, several schemes make it possible to fund your studies and keep the programmes accessible to as many students as possible. Each year the Fonds de Dotation Ferrières awards scholarships based on several criteria: family income, quality of the application and order of registration. Excellence scholarships are also offered to French and international students. The school can also put you in touch with its partner banks so that you can benefit from student loans at preferential rates. Finally, work-study routes offer a further solution: they fund part of your tuition while you gain valuable professional experience.

The culinary programmes are not eligible for CPF funding (the French personal training account), but this affects neither their accessibility nor their appeal. At École Ferrières, we offer other funding solutions suited to a range of student and family profiles. Depending on the course, schemes such as work-study are available, allowing you to fund your training while being paid by a company. Other options can also be explored, including instalment plans or specific forms of support depending on individual circumstances. Culinary programmes fall outside CPF eligibility because of their highly vocational, immersive nature, centred on practical excellence and hands-on experience. What matters is that these courses open up solid prospects in gastronomy and hospitality, with personalised support to help every student turn their plans into reality.

Funding your studies through work-study at École Ferrières combines training with professional experience while significantly reducing the cost of your course. The student signs an apprenticeship contract with a partner company and becomes an employee, receiving a monthly salary that supports their financial independence. Tuition fees may then be covered in full or in part by the company's OPCO (skills funding body), depending on the contract and the level of study. This solution is particularly advantageous for Bachelor students and on certain vocational tracks. Work-study at Ferrières also comes with personalised support to help students find a company and secure their place. Beyond the funding, it offers genuine immersion in the hospitality, gastronomy and luxury professions, strengthening employability from the moment they graduate.

For international students

To apply to École Ferrières from abroad, you apply directly to the school, without necessarily going through a national platform. Send your application by email to admissions@ferrieres-paris.com with the following documents: CV, covering letter, a copy of your passport and your most recent school reports. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be invited to a motivation interview to assess your plans, your academic level and your skills (analysis, communication, adaptability). Depending on the programme, a test or additional assessments may also be required. The Ferrières teams support international students with their administrative procedures, including Campus France where relevant, as well as with visa and accommodation questions. Admission is generally confirmed around 15 days after the assessment stages. This process allows for personalised support tailored to each international profile, from Bachelor to MSc, according to the entry level and academic requirements.

Studying in France involves two main stages: the Campus France "Études en France" procedure, followed by a visa application on France-Visas. First, create an account on the Études en France platform and upload your documents (qualifications, CV, study plans). This step confirms your academic background and your admission to a French institution. Once you have been admitted, you move on to the long-stay student visa application (VLS-TS). This is done online on France-Visas: complete the form, upload your supporting documents, then book an appointment at the relevant visa centre or consulate to submit your file and biometric data. You can then track progress online and collect your visa. The visa must be validated online within three months of your arrival in France in order to remain valid.

Yes, École Ferrières provides accommodation support for its students, from admission through to settling in France. The student services team helps you understand the procedures, put together a strong application (guarantor, insurance, supporting documents) and identify suitable accommodation near the campus. The school does not have its own halls of residence, but points students towards a range of options nearby, such as student residences, studio flats or shared flats in surrounding towns like Ferrières-en-Brie and Bussy-Saint-Georges. This support is particularly valuable for international students discovering the French rental market. Personalised advice is also available to make the search more secure and settling in easier. The aim is to make integration smoother so that students can focus on their studies from the moment they arrive.

Yes, courses at École Ferrières are taught in French and in English depending on the programme, within a genuinely international approach. The Bachelor French Track is taught mainly in French while integrating English throughout the course (level assessed via IELTS). It builds a solid foundation in hotel and culinary management while developing essential language skills. The Bachelor English Track is taught entirely in English, making it particularly well suited to international students and to those who wish to work in a global academic environment. French is also strengthened through the Voltaire certification. The MSc is taught entirely in English and follows a professional, international approach geared towards management careers in hospitality and restaurants. Finally, the Culinary Arts are taught in French, with bilingual chef-instructors supporting students day to day, easing integration and language progress.
