What did you do before studying at Ferrieres School?

After a Baccalaureate in Science in the European section, I followed two foundation years in Economics and Business, as a preparation for a Grande Ecole in Business. Back then, I already had developed an interest in the hotel/restaurant sector, but since I didn’t want to choose my specialization right away I opted for a general program, purposefully pushing my boundaries. After two years of intensive work, I enrolled in Grenoble School of Management (ranked 6th amongst the Grandes Ecoles in France) which was my preferred choice when sitting for the oral exams. The atmosphere immediately appealed to me, as well as the role of student associations, the school’s location in downtown Grenoble and the diverse choice of degrees. Of course, I had also spotted the partnership with Ferrieres given my interest in this industry (Summer School and Dual Diploma).

What is your major?

My specialization is Hotel Management

Why did you choose Ferrieres School?

I chose Ferrieres School for three main raisons:

  • The opportunity to major in hospitality.
  • The school’s young status: there is still much to do, especially when it comes to developing student associations.
  • The small scope of the structure: classes are small which leads to smoother interaction and better proximity with the administration and the teachers.

What is your favourite part of the Ferrieres MSc program?

Revenue Management course with Serge CHAMELIAN
Oenology classes with Nils BIHARI-ANDERSSON

With whom was your most meaningful encounter during your time at Ferrieres?

My most meaningful encounter was with a prospective Bachelor student I met during a Campus private visit last summer, during my internship at the Ferrieres sales department. I had guided her through Ferrieres’ castle, along with her parents. Why is it my best encounter? Because we shared the same enthusiasm for joining Ferrieres and it was with her that I bonded the most over my real passion for the industry.

What is your favorite memory from your time at Ferrieres?

As part of my MSc1 final project, I had the chance to attend a full visit of the Campus conducted by the Academic Director Mr Frusetta. The two hours went by so amazingly fast because the experience was rich with historical insights, anecdotes and passionate vibes.

Where did you / will you carry out your internship?

Between my two foundation years, I did an internship at the reception of a 3* hotel in the Latin Quarter in Paris. It was the experience that heightened my interest in the hospitality sector. Last summer, I completed an internship at the Ferrieres Sales department where I was able to put into practice my courses at GEM and strengthen both my autonomous skills and my teamwork capacities.
This year, I will travel to New Zealand for an internship at the 5* Hilton Lake Taupo. The internship will be versatile: I will be working 3 days in HR and 2 days in Food & Beverage and/or Housekeeping per week.

What is your ultimate goal for your future career?

My ultimate goal is to open my own hotel, in line with Relais & Châteaux spirit in France, targeting mostly families. An establishment in the style of Relais & Châteaux in France and intended mainly for families.

If you were to recommend Ferrieres to a friend, what would you say?

At Ferrieres, we are fortunate to work on concrete projects, and we know for a fact that our work will potentially be utilized by the managing group, and will serve to improve the ecosystem. We contribute in a way to the visionary project of Ferrieres.
